Yield: 30 Cookies
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
- 60 candy eyeballs
Tools You’ll Need:
- Cuisipro Measuring Cups and Spoons Set
- Cuisipro Baking Sheet (Large)
- Cuisipro Cooling Rack
- Cuisipro Deluxe Decorating Pen
- Start by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until it takes on a golden-brown hue. Then remove from heat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients, including flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, combine the browned melted butter and sugars until it resembles the texture of wet sand. Then stir in the egg, vanilla, and pumpkin.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until the dough reaches a sticky consistency.
- Cover the bowl and allow the dough to chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or up to 2 days.
- When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Form the dough into balls of roughly 1.5 inches in size and arrange them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper, ensuring a 2-inch gap between each.
- Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cookies’ tops appear set.
- As you let the cookies cool on a cooling rack, prepare the icing by combining powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Slowly add milk until you achieve your desired icing consistency. Pour icing into your Deluxe Decorating Pen.
- Once your cookies have fully cooled, use the Decorating Pen to drizzle the icing in a zig-zag pattern, mimicking the bandages of a mummy.
- Before the icing hardens, place two candy eyeballs on each cookie, transforming them into adorable mummy cookies.
Now, you’re all set to enjoy these spook-tacular treats, perfect for Halloween gatherings and get-togethers! They’re bound to be a delightful hit, and both kids and adults will be enchanted by their deliciously spooky charm.
